About Brotherhood
Founded with only 6-8 members in 2001, the Brotherhood now boasts close to 80 members. This active club holds its general meetings the fourth Tuesday of every month at 7:00pm at the Temple, which along with fun and games, presents relevant topics for discussion and learning, including: CPR - Defibrillator Value, WWII Concentration Camp Observer one week after it was liberated, Tax program by an AARP representative, Medicare "D" program, and Scams, presented by Lt. Wolfe of the Sumter County Sheriff's Department.
In addition, special guest speakers have addressed timely topics at Brotherhood meetings: Pete Wahl, Villages Manager, Tony Simpson, Executive Golf Manager, and Hospice Speaker.
The Brotherhood's fund raising activities have contributed generously toward operating and capital expenses of the Temple. In cooperation with the Sisterhood, the Brotherhood donated the Star of David for the new chapel at Hospice of the Villages. We also jointly purchased an Automatic External Defibrillator (AED) in 2005. Should someone have a heart attack or a stroke, the AED, used properly, may help save a life.
The Brotherhood is striving to have more activities that are of interest to our members. Your suggestions are always welcome.
