The Skipper will host Villagers Salute The Songs of Johnny Mercer at Temple Shalom on Saturday May 1, 2010 at 7:oo pm as a benefit for both Temple Shalom and the Boys and Girls Clubs of Lake and Sumter Counties. Top Village Resident performers scheduled to perform are Chris Bolus, Janice Bruce, Sheila Dzieman, Joan Knapton, Jan Lavin,Jeff May, Harriette Nappi, Neil Nappi, Billie Thatcher, Gayle Tice as well as Temple members Fran Crispi, Nancy Heyman and Stan Goodman.

Songs will include: Moon River, The Days of Wine and Roses, I Wanna be Around..., When You're in Love, Autumn Leaves, One for My Baby, Skylark and In the Cool, Cool, Cool of the Evening. Johnny Mercer wrote songs with over 230 composers and we will perform many of his best known hits.
